Aesculapian Ratsnake

Aesculapian Ratsnakes are a widespread Euopean Ratsnake that is quite rare in captivity in the U.S. My breeding group is from the eastern shore of the Black Sea along the Kuban River in south western Russia. Like many European snakes, they prefer cooler temperatures and do not tolerate high heat well. However, they are very resilient captives that are easy to care for. Despite their muted colors they have a beauty that is all their own.
